Fragment of an unusual form of Late Saxon strap-end, probably a variation of Thomas' Class G (2004) FRG Datasheet 33, fig. 5 nos. 36-7. The upper part of the splayed split attachment-end is missing, with only a groove representing the base of the split surviving. Below the split, the plate is flat-sectioned with engraved bordering lines and a stylised animal head in high relief at the mid-point. The lower part begins to splay gently before the break, lower end missing. Extant length 27.5mm. Extant width 10.5mm. Thickness, at upper end 3mm, at head 5mm. 11th century.

Incomplete Late Saxon copper-alloy tongue-shaped openwork strap-end with rebate at the attachment edge on one face for the missing separate sheet bar, originally secured by two rivets, surviving rivet-holes broken, rivets missing. The decoration consists entirely of sinuous foliage intertwined with gripping animals. Rather more emphasis is placed on the zoomorphic element. An incomplete copper-alloy zoomorphic strap end dating to the early medieval (late Anglo-Saxon) period. The object is tongue-shaped in plan and rectangular and slightly convex in section. At the upper end the plate bifurcates. Each plate possesses two circular perforations. The lower end of the object tapers to form a rounded terminal in the form of a moulded animal head. A copper alloy, late medieval - post medieval, box chape strap end, AD.1450-1550. The object is broken into two parts. The box chape is complete with two Iron rivets to hold the strap in place. The front face of the chape is decorated with a black letter inscription IHC within an incised border, this is set above triple ridges separated by two grooves. A post-medieval to modern copper-alloy strap-end, dating to the period c.1700-1900. The upper portion of the object comprises a sub-trapezoidal plate with a circular knop on its top right- and left-hand corners, and a pointed-oval recess with openwork design consisting of seven perforations. Below this, the plate separates into three 'tongues', each of which is vertically split to accommodate the now-missing strap. The rear of the object is identically decorated.
