Incomplete cast copper alloy Roman hinged T-shaped, South-western derivative brooch. The left wing of the tubular crossbar has broken off at the end, however the right wing is complete with a bulbous rounded end and circumferential mouldings just inside the expanded knop. The crossbar is 35 mm in length and 7 mm in diameter at its thinnest and 8.5 mm in diameter at the bulbous end. The remnant of the curved bow is 25 mm long, 15 m wide where it is attached to the crossbar and tapers to a the broken edge which is 11 mm wide. There are three stamped marks on the face: an ewer (mark of the Founders Company of London), a quartered shield of the City of London with a sword in the topleft quadrant, the sword of St Paul and an ewer denoting that the weight was approved by the Founders Company in London. Three sherds of Roman wheel thrown mica speckled greyware ceramic vessel dating c.AD 125-300.
Description: The sherds are all irregular body sherds with clear striations indicating they were part of a wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is very hard with some common mica speckling and fine black grit. There is little mica intrusion into the inner fabric. A small sherd of probable Roman wheel thrown ceramic vessel dating.
Description: The sherd is a medium sized rregular body sherd with clear striations indicating a wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is very hard with substantial mica speckling and with some mica intrusion into the inner fabric. The sherd has very jagged edges and is a dark grey colour indicating a heavily reducing kiln atmosphere, although the outside edge is browner particularly towards the base of the sherd while the upper edge is greyer.

A rim sherd probably from a Roman ceramic drinking vessel of Patchgrove Grog-tempered ware.
Description: The sherd represents part of the rim of a ceramic vessel with the rim surviving in full in one small place and not enough remains to suggest original diameter. The fabric has a light white brown outer colour and a light grey-blue inner with some brown mottling. A large iron mount with three spearate iron rivets/nails. This flat-topped sheild shaped mount weighs 1.8kg. The mount has a maximum height of 180.0mm and maximum width of 163.0mm.
The front is slightly convex and decorated with a heraldic motif in relief which consists of a single central equal-armed cross. The cross has trefoil terminals at the end of each arm. A scallop shell motif is present at the centre of each trefoil terminal. A single slightly raised circle fills the central crossing point of the cross's arms. This has a diameter of 21.8mm. A fragment of wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Roman date c. AD 43 - 410, likely a mica dusted greyware cooking vessel dating to the period c. AD 125 - 300.
Description: The vessel survives only as a body sherd with some rim at the top lip. The sherd has mixed variably spaced inclusions of small grit and quartz. and sparse specks of mica dusting. The sherd is unoxidised being ad dark grey throughout. The sherd likely relates to a cooking pot.
Measurements: 34.05mm wide. 35.18mm high, 9.03mm thick and 12.20g in weight.

A fragment of a Roman trumpet brooch of Bayley and Butcher 2000, Group B/C. It consists of a fragment of the bow. The head, lower bow and catchplate are missing. The bow is decorated at the upper section by three moulded horizontal ribs. The reverse of the bow is flat apart from the broadly triangular in profile remains of the catchplate. The object has a dark green coloured patina across all surfaces.
The fragment measures 39.2 mm in length, 6.8 mm in width, 6.4 mm in thickness and weighs 4.7 grams.

A cast lead, or lead alloy, spindle whorl of Roman to Post Medieval date (AD1 - 1650). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular. There is a circular perforation which is 8.9 mm diameter which is located in the centre of the whorl. Both faces of the object are very worn so it is difficult to establish if there was originally any decoration. The surfaces of the spindle whorl are a light cream colour. The faces are uneven, possibly due to damage in the plough soil.

A Medieval copper alloy bucke plate, probably dating to c. AD 1200-1400. The buckle plate is sub-rectangular, comprising of copper alloy sheet cut into two oval lobes arranged longitudinally and divided by a transverse bar, with a second bar at the buckle end, with a smaller, plain rectangular back-plate connected by two rectangular arms which would have curved around the bar of the buckle. The buckle plate is perforated four times, twice on each lobe and with each retaining a separate copper alloy rivet. The backplate only reaches the intial rivets. The plate is undecorated.

A fragment of a post-medieval (c.1650-1700) four-part lead cloth seal, consisting of a square inner part ('disc' two or three) only. A fragment of connecting strip survives projecting from two opposing edges. It has a depiction to one face only, a letter V or perhaps a harp within a rope-like border. Several annulets are visible in the field surrounding the V/ harp, and within it are raised horizontal ribs (depiction of harps mroe usually have diagonal ribs filling the shape). It measures 15.2x13.2mm, is 0.9mm thick and weighs 1.20g.
