A complete Medieval copper-alloy harness suspension mount (1200-1400).
The mount consists of two sub-rectangular loops with an extension at one end. Viewed from the side, each loop measures about 23.0mm x 13.5mm and has a thickness of about 3.0mm. A copper alloy pin from a large annular framed buckle. The pin only remains. The pin is rectangular in cross section and tapers to a rounded point. On the upper face of the pin towards the attachment end is a raised rectangular area decorated with four transverse grooves. The attachment end is broken but was originally hooked to go around the frame of an annular buckle.

A copper alloy thimble. A small domed thimble. The top is smoothly domed and does not have a tonsure (an area bare of indentations). The body is circular. The indentations are small and circular; they have been applied in vertical rows over the whole of the exterior surface, all the way to the base. The lower edge is slightly damaged and there is a small hole part way up the body. The method of manufacture is not clear.

This is followed by two transverse ridges, a stamped ring-and-dot motif followed by a single transverse ridge, a central rectangular panel engraved with cross-hatched grooves, a single transverse ridge and a second ring-and-dot motif. In plan it is rounded at the base, which is of c22mm diameter, with an oval projection at the apex measuring 8.5 by 5.1mm; and in section it is in the form of a shallow cone with a slight lean, 15.5mm high, surmounted by a 3.4mm high central trapezoidal projection.
As the surface is heavily patinated and generally worn, the detail is obscured, and it is possible that the projection may originally have been higher and would have been perforated to allow suspension.

This buckle frame is convex at the front, flat at the rear. The oval loops are of similar size and shape and are bevelled internally at the front. In side view the loops are angled upwards at an angle of about 10°. The bar is triangular in cross-section, flat at the rear. The copper-alloy tapering pin is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear.
The frame and pin are green with patches of a dark green patina.

A complete square copper alloy uniface coin weight of the early post medieval period (1454-1460) struck in Burgundy by Philip the Good (Withers 2011, 52). The lion is seated and facing left, flanked by two columns and a beneath 2? Arches. There does not appear to be traces of any legend or letters. The reverse is plain.

Fragment of copper alloy possible openwork scabbard chape, comprising one curving flat sectioned arm broken beyond a perforated oval expansion at one (containing copper alloy rivet) end, the other end broken just beyond one of three short rectangular projections on the convex outside edge, between which are multiple engraved transverse grooves. Probably later 11th- or 12th-century and from a sword scabbard. It bears some resemblance to an example from Sporle with Palgrave (HER 1058, NMS-F59326 ). Extant length 29mm. Width 5mm. 1.2mm thick.

A fragment of a copper alloy probable Roman bracelet/armlet. The strip is D-shaped in cross-section with continuous transverse grooves covering the outer face. There is a straight break across one end and the other tapers to a worn point. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded - particularly on the reverse.
The fragment is probably part of a Roman armlet or bracelet. Two examples with similar decoration were exacavated at Colchester (Crummy 1983, 40, nos. 1676 & 1679). This style dates to the 3rd or 4th century AD (ibid. 37).

A fragment of a post-Medieval copper-alloy spherical animal 'crotal' bell (1600-1800).
The suspension loop at the top and one side of the body is missing due to breaks.
The upper and lower hemispheres are divided by a prominent horizontal circumferential joining rib. The plain upper hemisphere has the remains of a circular sound hole. The lower hemisphere is decorated with 'fish-scale' motifs. At the base a small incised plaque contains incised maker's initials: S*C.
This bell has a dark green patina on the outer face and the inner face is light green.
