Lead weight or possible gaming piece, of probable medieval date. In plan it is rounded at the base, which is of c22mm diameter, with an oval projection at the apex measuring 8.5 by 5.1mm; and in section it is in the form of a shallow cone with a slight lean, 15.5mm high, surmounted by a 3.4mm high central trapezoidal projection. As the surface is heavily patinated and generally worn, the detail is obscured, and it is possible that the projection may originally have been higher and would have been perforated to allow suspension.
