A pierced silver commonwealth half groat, AD 1649-1660. Obverse shows a single shield bearing the cross of St George surrounded by foliage of laurel and palm (tbc). No Obverse legend. Reverse shows two conjoined shields, one bearing the cross of St George and the other an Irish harp, .II. above with a dot border. No Reverse legend. The coin has been pierced twice through from the obverse to the reverse side.
