A complete Medieval silver short cross cut halfpenny of John (1199-1216), minted by Walter. Class 5c, 1207-c. 1210 (North 1994: 221, ref: 971).
This coin could possibly be class 6. However, the lettering is small so it is probably a class 5c.
The obverse has a voided short cross instead of a bust!

Obverse has the worn bust of the queen facing left with the legend [ELIZAB] D G ANG [FR] ET [HIB REGINA]. Reverse has a squared shield on long cross fourchée with the legend POSVI/[DEV] AD/I[VTOE/R] MEV. The coin appears to have been clipped.
