A fragment of a copper-alloy strap-end of medieval date. A small part of the body of the strap-end survives, with a terminal in the shape of a three-dimensional human head with stylised features. The head is sub-ovoid with incised dots for eyes and a linear groove representing the mouth. The hair and a possible head-dress, hat or helmet are cast in moulded relief. The brooch comprises a haft which is rectangular in plan and features a recessed cell, which would originally have contained enamel but is now empty. The haft has been bent back on itself. An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester one piece brooch dating to the Late Iron Age to early Roman period. The fragment comprises one circular-section loop of the integral spring mechanism extending to an arched rectangular-section bow, which tapers towards a point now missing. The pin and catchplate are also missing. The brooch measures 30mm in length, 3mm in width and 2mm in thickness.

This extends to a lentoidal section shank from which their extends at right angles a rectangular bit with one 'T'-shaped tooth. A copper-alloy seal matrix dating to the fourteenth or fifteenth century AD. This seal is circular in plan with a hexagonally faceted conical handle that tapers towards the integral suspension loop.
