A lead alloy powder flask cap. A cap for a powder holder. Open at one end and closed at the other. The cap is oval at the flat, closed end and squashed and misshapen at the open end.There are two loops at the closed end, one either side. Date: Post Medieval - c. 1600 - 1700 Height 32.62 mm, Height 20.87 mm, Width 17.19 mm, Thickness 1.83 mm, Weight 25.01 g. A lead weight, probably dating to the later Medieval or early post medieval period (AD 1400 to 1700). The weight is approximately rectangular in plan and hemispherical in section. The upper surface is decorated with an integrally-cast saltire cross and possesses a small circular piercing. The piercing is situated between two of the arms of the cross. The weight measures 25mm in length, 22mm in width, 8mm in thickness and weighs 25.22g.
