Incomplete, worn and corroded medieval gilt copper alloy buckle, kidney-shaped frame with offset narrowed bar, triangular copper alloy sheet pin, rectangular plate folded widthways, recessed for frame and with pin-slot, back part narrowed and shortened. Face with remains of an engraved lozenge within bordering lines, rivet-hole at the attachment- end. Traces of gilding in engraving stand proud of the corroded surface. Frame length 13mm, width 27.5mm. Plate length 17.5mm, width 22mm. Combined length 26.5mm. 12th-13th century.

Distorted copper alloy sheet plate from a medieval buckle or strap, rectangular one end with slightly recessed sides and fold to form short loop with no back-plate. The plate has two rivet-holes at the fold, a central rivet-hole (with iron corrosion) and three rivet-holes at the other end. The face has traces of an engraved interrupted rocker-arm border. Width 16.5mm. Length (unbent) 47mm. 14th century.
