An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval sword or dagger chape. Part of the front face and part of the attachment plate is missing due to old breaks, now worn. It is made from sheet metal folded over to form a triangular shape. It tapers towards the terminal end where it has been flattened and closed. There is the remains of one hooked projection on the back face at the terminal end. This chape measures 51.52mm in length, 52.15mm in width, 10.71mm in thickness, 8.1g in weight.
