A flint implement, possibly a Mesolithic scraper. It consists of a sub triangular lump of opaque grey flint with a pale orange brown patina. It may be a natural flake. On the ventral side a central flake has been removed which shows a point of percussion and the suggestion of two faint concentric ripples.Whichever way up the implement is held, between thumb and forefinger, the thumb naturally fits the depression thus formed. A complete cast copper-alloy coin weight for the unite of James I, dating c. 1604-1619. It is rectangular in plan and trapezoidal in section, with neatly chamfered edges. Double-sided, the upper face depicts the mark of value 'XXII/s' under a crown, the 'S' being flanked by a pair of fleur de lis motifs, while the underside demonstrates the half-bust of James facing right, crowned, holding a sceptre and orb. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy hinged developed T-shaped brooch, probably dating to c. AD 75-150. The lower half of the bow has been lost, along with the catch-plate, as has the pin. The upper half of the bow has been bent to one side as a result of old damage. At the head of the brooch the wings survive largely complete to a width of 20.2 mm, though there is some damage visible to the lefhand wing at its tip.
