Description: Fragment of punched gold sheet, comprising a flat, pointed oval piece with a jagged transverse break at either end. One face is decorated all over with punched annulets, and the other side is undecorated. Both faces are heavily scratched. Dimensions: Length: 19mm, maximum width: 12mm, minimum width: 4.2mm, thickness: 1mm, weight: 1.2g. Discussion: This fragment is of uncertain function, but feasibly could be from the bezel of an early medieval gold finger-ring.
