A copper-alloy tubular bead, probably a rein strengthener or decorative harness fitting dating to the Roman period. The bead comprises a faceted tube which swells towards its middle. The bead measures 39mm in length, a maximum of 13mm in diameter. Similar faceted tubes have been found at Catterick (Wilson 2002, 109, 13-16) Old Penrith, Cumbria (Mould in Austen 1991, Fig. 97, 693-4), Vindolanda (Bidwell 1985, Fig 42, 57 and 58), Richborough (Bushe-Fox 1949, Pl. LV, 247) and the Saalburg (Jacobi 1897b, Taf LXVII, 4) suggesting that they may have a military association.

A complete cast copper-alloy strap-mounted harness fitting or terret ring dating to the first or second century AD. It is of Lewis' type 19 'dropped-bar' form. The terret ring is composed of a simple plain oval loop with pronounced circumferential ribs and a wider top than base A rectangular-section attachment loop extends from the widest part of the loop. It measures 34mm in length, 35mm in width and a maximum of 12mm in thickness. A n incomplete copper-alloy 'vulvate' or 'coffee bean' stud dating to the second or third century AD. The stud possesses a body which is hexagonal in plan and slightly convex in section. The edges of the body are not symmetrical with a crescental moulding extending from one of its long sides, probably part of a broken perforated attachement plate. A copper-alloy openwork stud, probably a decorative harness fitting dating to the late second or early third century AD. The stud comprises an approximately oval openwork plate of two opposing trumpet motifs. Each motif is hemispherical in section. From the underside of the plate, there extends a circular-section lug, with flat, rectangular end plate. The stud measures 20mm in length, 17mm in width and has a maximum thickness of 9mm.
