An early Roman copper alloy disc brooch. The brooch is flat and broadly circular, but the perimeter is damaged. The face of the brooch has a raised circular rim for enclosing a large area of enamel. Small areas of red enamel survive. The face is too badly degraded to discern a pattern. An incomplete catchplate is located on the reverse. The pin is missing. Circa AD80-250. This particular model is considerably shorter than other Hod Hill types, and has patches of black coating. The pin and plate are missing, with the brooches condition being rather corroded and worn.

Copper-alloy, Roman steelyard weight in the shape of a female bust, AD 43-410. The weight is moulded in high relief, with silver studs inset into the eyes of the figure. The figure wears a tall rounded helmet, which may have represented the goddess Minerva, similar to finds from South Shields, Figures 394, 472 and 473. The torso has no arms and bears a representation of a sleeve-less garment with a high neckline and three circular decorations across the chest. A Roman copper alloy bracelet of expanding type made of a single piece of circular sectioned wire, 3rd century in date. The ends of the wire are overlapped and then each is wrapped around the main loop of the bracelet giving an adjustable catch. The ends taper from the point they start being wrapped around, both ends are wrapped around five times It is slightly out of shape, measuring 77.38mm x 68.32mm in diameter. Crummy (1983) illustrates a very similar bracelet (page 39 no.1601) from a third century context in Colchester.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman strap fitting. It has an oval loop and a D-shaped cross section frame. Inline with the minor axis of the loop, the outer edge of the frame has two opposite projections: a globular knop and a recessed rectangular box containing redish material which might be iron corrosion. Roman brooch (c. 43-400); Colchester derivative Polden Hill Type 5.a4 of Western Group. The wings are semi-cylindrical, which terminate with perforated wing caps.
