An incomplete copper alloy brooch of the cruciform type, dating to the Early Medieval period (c. AD 400 - 600). Only the foot and lower bow survive, the rest of the object having broken away in antiquity. The foot is in the shape of a beast's head with moulded, ridged eyebrows and prominent rounded eyes. The snout extends towards the terminal of the brooch with a prominent raised bridge of the nose and raised nostrils. The pendant is in the shape of a ten-pointed star with five of the points radiating outwards on either side of an integrally cast suspension loop at the upper end of the pendant. At the lower end the pendant extends into a bifurcated hinge or suspension loop. There is a rivet in situ just above the hinge. An incomplete copper alloy Colchester derivative, hinged brooch dating to the Roman period (c. AD 55-100). The brooch is in two parts and both were recovered very close together in the same field. The head of the brooch has two short wings with a recess in the centre on the reverse to accommodate the, now missing, pin. Fragment of a copper alloy spear head dating from the Middle Bronze Age, about 1550 - 1250 BC. It probably can be assigned to Davis's Group 6 'Developed side looped' type (Davis 2017). It has a narrow blade measuring 44mm in length and 18mm in width. The tip is missing and the break is very worn and patinated suggesting it broke in antiquity; the base of the fragment also shares the same patina. Most of the spear head is missing. The spring is hidden behind two flat, rectangular wings. The bow is comma shaped in profile and oval in section. The catchplate is missing. The bow is worn, but appears to have vertical lines. The lip is plano-convex in section and the lip is angled so that the flat side is on the exterior. The bevelled face of the frame has six circular recesses, five of which may have held a setting or decorative coloured paste, and the sixth holds the tip of the pin. A fragment of a white metal plated copper alloy spoon dating to the Post Medieval to Modern period (c. AD 1700-1850). The object comprises the bowl of the spoon, which has a pointed oval shape characteristic of later spoons. The edges of the spoon bowl are very rough and damaged therefore making it difficult to determine where the handle of the spoon was once attached. The brooch is in the form of a raptor bird, possibly an eagle, in relief with the feathers indicated by incised line decoration and the eyes and beak cast. It has an integral pierced lug projecting from the top, which is cast at 90 degrees to the pendant to allow it to be attached to a hanger and swing freely. A late medieval lead ampulla. The ampulla is of the standard flask shape. Only the circular chamber survives. A feint moulded star motif is possibly visible on one side; the other side is worn. Traces of a side lug are visible on both shoulders. The neck-line appears to have been cut with a knife and then prized open to release the contents. Circa 1400-1500.
