An incomplete copper-alloy Aucissa variant brooch of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 100. The head of the brooch is rolled; formed from a flat, rectangular panel which splits into two at the back and rolls down and round to form the integral hinge which retains an axis bar. The loop of a pin remains around the bar but the pin proper is lost to a worn break.
The front of the head tapers into a narrow circular sectioned bow which extends with a curved and distorted profile. The bow terminates in a circular foot knop and the remains of an integral catchplate extend to the reverse

Complete medieval copper-alloy pointed-oval seal matrix dating to c. 1300 AD. The seal matrix consists of a flat, pointed-oval plate with an integrally cast D-shaped lug protruding from the back at a right-angle. A shallow ridge runs longitudinally down the back face in line with the lug. The front is inscribed with an inscription around the edge, within two beaded borders. An incomplete lead alloy possible figurative mount probably dating to the post medieval period.
The object is now broken into two pieces. The first fragment is sub-triangular in shape and decorated with a moulded human face. The face consists of thick eyebrows above recessed eyes. The nose is thin and raised, and a gaped mouth is represented by two curved lines. There is a thick, raised beard either side of the mouth. The reverse is worn, damaged and slightly concave. An incomplete copper alloy buckle dating to the post medieval period.
The buckle frame is plain, double looped and rectangular in shape, with rounded corners. The loops are symmetrical. The central bar is slightly convex and raised above the frame. The pin is missing.
The metal is worn and mid green in colour. The buckle is 12.5 mm long, 11.8 mm wide, and 1.2 mm thick. It weighs 0.5 g.

An incomplete copper alloy double bossed or headed button and loop fastener dating from the early Roman period. It is of a type not classified by Wild, but similar to Wild Class II: ring headed, which dates from the mid first to second century AD (AD 43 - 200).
The fastener is incomplete with almost all of the ring shaped "button" element missing. The breaks are very worn and patinated. Only the very top part of the ring survives, and this is twisted.
