An incomplete copper-alloy La Tene brooch of late Iron Age / early Roman date, c.100 BC - AD 100. The brooch is formed from a single piece of metal. The bow is rectangular in section, tapering at the head to a narrower integral spring with only part of one turn remaining. The catchplate is formed by the foot of the bow being hammered at a 90 degree angle to create a flat sub-triangular plate which has been damaged. The slightly flared posterior end is decorated on the upper surface by an impressed circular motif surrounded by geometric and floral decoration, and has a single copper alloy rivet penetrating near the rear face and projecting from the lower surface. The anterior end also has an impressed decoration of floral and geometric elements within a zig-zag border, and has a downward facing flattened hook. A copper alloy medieval strap-slide dating from c.1350-1400 AD. It is rectangular in shape, the front bar is slightly recessed and rounded, and has an oval knop in the centre. This is decorated with cross hatching. The rest of the frame is flat and rectangular in cross section. The rear bar has two circular rivet holes for attachment. The frame has a dark green patina, and measures 29.9mm in length, 21.8mm in width, and weighs 4.78g. A similar strap-slide can be seen in Read 2001, page 31, number 226.

A complete copper-alloy Roman button and loop fastener of Wild Class III, dating c.AD 43-200. The button and loop fastener is of the single headed variety and exhibits a teardrop shaped head decorated with a narrow lenticular moulding at the apex of the point. A large raised circular boss is situated in the curve of the teardrop. An integrally cast oval cross-sectioned shank extends at 90 degrees from the apex of the curve.
