A copper alloy probable Early Medieval to Medieval (Anglo-Scandinavian) openwork mount in zoomorphic form dating from about AD 1000-1100. It is most similar to Urnes style objects. The mount is sub triangular with two of the three points being an animal head with a short snout and moulded long pointed oval ears. Behind each of the two surviving heads is a circular rivet hole filled with the corroded remains of copper alloy rivets. Each element then divides to form two strands of interlance in a symetrical knot. Loops of this knot form a rounded projection in the centre of each side of…

A long piece of copper alloy which is possibly a casket binding strip or other fitting of probable Medieval date, about AD 1150 - 1500. The rod is mainly sub-square in cross section, tending towards circular in places. In the centre, which is the thickest part, is a copper alloy rievt with a large rectangular head. The rivet appears to be separate. It passes through the bar at an angle and projects slightly on the other side. One end of the bar curves upwards into a large oval loop which is not closed. The bar ends beyond the central rivet, having curved back on itself to form the loo…
