Incomplete medieval copper alloy strap end dating to the period c. AD 1270 - 1450. It consists of a single piece of sheet copper alloy, folded along one side, the front plate now largely missing due to old damage. What remains of the front plate exhibits an engraved, probably zoomorphic design consisting of a splayed foot on a stippled background. The back plate is undecorated and exhibits two circualr rivet holes retaining the stubs of copper alloy rivets. See: Egan & Pritchard, 2002, p. 134 - 135 for similar forms.

Blazon: Gules a lion passant Or. Length/height (unbent) 45mm (of which the suspension shank and loop account for 13mm). Width 34.5mm. Late 12th-13th century.

Medieval copper alloy stud dating to the period c. AD 1250 - 1500. Flat, circular head with an engraved design consisting of a central pellet with four triangular grooves radiating at the cardinal points forming a cross pattee. In each quarter a single pellet with a triangular groove radiating to the edge. The engraved decoration retains traces of a black substance, possibly niello. The square-sectioned shank tapers to a notched point.
