Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill. It has rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that hold the pin axis bar, the spring is made from eight curls, the pin is complete. A rearwards facing loop at the back of the head holds the external cord of the spring. Small shoulders flank the head. At the apex of the bow on both sides is a recessed semicircle that is filled with blue enamel, below this are two sets of double moulded and angled ridges that form a chevron pattern. The foot is globular and the catch plate on the reverse is closed. Date 80-120AD.

An incomplete copper-alloy strap or harness fitting of Roman date, c.AD 50 - 200. The fitting is a pointed ovate in plan with a central raised circular boss within a circumferential recess. The pointed terminals are also raised. A break is present from one edge, extending into the central recess. Two integral, circular sectioned shanks project from the reverse of the terminals, representing the remains of an attachment loop. The metal has a dark red/brown patina and survives in fair condition. The object is 33.1mm long, 15.6mm wide, 5.7mm thick (10.6mm with shanks) and weighs 6.7g.…

One half of a copper alloy double looped buckle of post-medieval date. Only one loop of the buckle remains. The buckle frame has a pointed end and rounded knops at each corner of the remaining loop. Rounded knops decorate the frame either end of the strap bar. The buckle frame is decorated with moulded hearts and scroll decoration. The pin remains attached to the strap bar with just the tip missing. The rear of the object is flat and undecorated.
