One half of a copper alloy double looped buckle of post-medieval date. Only one loop of the buckle remains. The buckle frame has a pointed end and rounded knops at each corner of the remaining loop. Rounded knops decorate the frame either end of the strap bar. The buckle frame is decorated with moulded hearts and scroll decoration. The pin remains attached to the strap bar with just the tip missing. The rear of the object is flat and undecorated. A copper alloy single looped buckle dating to the medieval period, c.1150-1230. The buckle has a D-shaped loop and an expanded frame with two rounded knops. Each knop is decorated with cross hatching which extends along each side of the buckle frame. The buckle frame straightens to form the sides of the strap bar which is oval in cross-section. The rear of the object is undecorated. It is coated with a white metal, probably tin. Dimensions: 21mm in length, 19mm in width, 3mm thick, 2.7g. The object is decorated with five linear grooves. The top knop is also decorated with grooves. The rear of the mount is flat and undecorated. Two integral lugs taper to a point for attachment. The object has a mid-green patina. Dimensions: 22mm in length, 10mm in width, 2mm thick, 2.0g.
