An incomplete snapped flint blade of probable later Mesolithic or early Neolithic date (6000BC - 3500BC). The flint tool, probably best described as a knife, is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross section. The blade has been snapped and the point is lost - the break is unpatinated and is likely to be an artefact of movement in the soil. The bulb of percussion and striking / knapping platform are present on the lower (ventral) face. The upper (dorsal) face of the blade has a number of clear facets and ridges.
