A late Saxon copper alloy strap end, Thomas type A, dating to the ninth-century. The strap end is tongue-shaped and has a bifurcated terminal. The terminal contains two rivet holes, both of which are now empty. The opposite end is in the form of a moulded animal head with two large ears at the top, and a shallow recessed area on either side of the head representing the eyes. A copper-alloy Early Medieval (late Anglo-Saxon) strap end. The upper part has a triangular shape in plan and a rectangular cross section with an internal split to receive the strap for which a copper-alloy rivet is still in situ. The middle is narrower and rectangular in shape with a rectangular cross section. The lower part is moulded to form a three dimensional animal head with protruding ears, a flat forehead with bevelled sides, a long snout and the mouth created by a slot in the lower terminal edge. Copper alloy buckle. Cast D-shaped buckle with a thickened rounded and expanded outer edge, bevelled behind, and with devolved beast head terminals gripping the ends of a narrowed strap bar. A pair of broad shallow grooves appear centrally on the outer edge, probably serving as a pin rest. Abraded. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 1000-1100. A copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) girdle hanger fragment. The fragment appears to be the base of the shank and top of the ward terminal. it is rectangular in plan and cross-section. There is a central iron rivet through the base of the shank. The ward fragment is very worn and may have been of Felder Type B, girdle hangers with closed wards, although too little survives to be sure. An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) linked pin with discoidal head and fragment of shaft surviving. The fragment remaining of the shaft has a circular cross-section with a rectangular expansion where it meets the lower edge of the head.
