Description: The sherd consists of a light-grey exterior surface, with a med pink /brown colour on the interior, it has a thin light oxidised orangey core. Two fragments of ceramic tile dating to the Roman period, c. 43-410 AD. The first, a fragment of a box-flue hypocast tile, with broken edges and a combed design on its upper face.Both demonstrate hard-fired bright orange fabrics with variable inclusions, mostly of quartz. Dimensions: 83.17mm long, 65.54mm wide, 20.09mm thick at midpoint. Weight: 144.53g. The second, a fragment of a tegula-type rooftile consisting one edge and part of the raised flange, 'L' shaped in section and mould-made. Dimensions:140.94mm long, 87.36mm wide, 18.65mm thick at midpoint. Weight: 431g.

Post Medieval cast copper alloy trade weight from the reign of James II (1685-1688). The weight is circular and flat with no rim. The front has a centring dimple surrounded by an incised circle and the back has file marks across it. The weight is 14.1mm in diameter by 2.9mm thick and weighs 2.69 grams, 0.95 oz. It was probably originally an eighth (0.125) of an ounce (two drams) with some weight lost to corrosion. An incomplete medieval cast copper-alloy double looped buckle, dating to the period AD 1500-1600. One loop is missing. The buckle is 22.79mm in length and 21.03mm in width. It is 2.46mm thick and weighs 2.64g. The patina is rough, the colour is green. Part of the pin is missing. The buckle has a broadly rectangular frame, with the upper and lower side curving inwards and the left side and the strap bar on the right curving outwards. The strap bar is slightly narrowed and offset. The pin has been folded around the strap bar and ends in a break.
