Post-medieval copper alloy shoe buckle frame with the embedded ends of an iron spindle. The form is close to that of Whitehead 2003, no. 624 but with ribs flanking a notch in the centre of both edges. Length and width 31.7 and 23mm. c.1660 - c.1720.

Post-medieval copper alloy oval buckle frame with central bar and integral loop, for use as a sword belt hanger. The latter is set at right angles to the frame at one end of the bar. At the opposite end there is a slight swelling or rib on one face of the frame. See Whitehead 2003, 71-2. The oval outline is paralleled by an example from Warwickshire (WAW-5B5313). A complete post Medieval copper alloy buckle dating to c. 1690-1720. It is possibly a shoe buckle. The buckle is sub-rectangular in shape with rounded external corners. The frame is bowed possibly to fit the curvature of the foot. The buckle has a single pin, with a corroded heart-shaped chape which has a single upstanding stud. An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy folded sheet buckle plate. The front sheet remaining is rectangular in shape. Two domed rivets, still in place, are at each corner of the end of the plate. An incomplete medieval cast copper-alloy double looped buckle, dating to the period AD 1500-1600. One loop is missing. The buckle is 22.79mm in length and 21.03mm in width. It is 2.46mm thick and weighs 2.64g. The patina is rough, the colour is green. Part of the pin is missing. The buckle has a broadly rectangular frame, with the upper and lower side curving inwards and the left side and the strap bar on the right curving outwards. The strap bar is slightly narrowed and offset. The pin has been folded around the strap bar and ends in a break.
