A cast, copper alloy, eye from a Post Medieval clasp. The eye consists of a lozange-shaped plate with a circular loop on one apex. The plate is decorated in relief with an interwined square and quatrefoil, within engrailed edges.In the centre of the plate is a rivet hole. There are globular knops on the apex opposite the loop and to one side. The fourth apex is broken, but longer and wider than the opposite knopped ones and is decorated in a way that suggests it joined to another eye. The eye has a deep green, smooth patina.
