An incomplete copper-alloy Roman 'bell-shaped' furniture fitting dating to the period AD 43-410. The fitting measures 22.08mm in height, 25.84mm in diameter and weighs 15.23g. The patina is uneven, smooth in some parts, rough in others, the colour is green with specks of brown.
The fitting has a corroded domed top with a 12.32mm wide circumferential ridge. Underneath this, the fitting narrows to 7.69mm, then tapers outwards again, forming a hollow dish.
