A worn and corroded copper-alloy clapper bell of possible Roman or Early Medieval date (c. AD 43-1100). The bell is incomplete as the clapper is missing. th eobject is conical in form with sides that flare out from the apex. At the upper edge is an intergral suspension loop that has a circular perforation. The suspension loop is angular and broadly lozenge shaped in form. The bell is undecorated and has a mid-green coloured patina. It has been flattened and the rim has suffered some damage, probably from th eplough soil. Copper-alloy crotal bell of post-medieval date (c. 1600 - 1800 AD), complete with clapper. The bell is spherical in shape with a sub-rectangular suspension loop protruding from the top. The lug is 1.35mm in thickness. There are two sound holes below the suspension loop, one on either side. One of these is circular while the other is slightly larger and almost tear-drop shaped. A small copper alloy bell of medieval to post-medieval date. The object appears complete but has been flattened. The bell would have been spherical with a single sound slot across the lower hemisphere - this has been opened by the flattening of the object. The sound pea appears to still be present, indicated by a lump in the upper half of the object. There is no visible seam to indicate that the bell was formed by two soldered halves, which may indicate it was pressed from copper alloy sheet, suggesting a later date.
