A silver William III probable shilling dating to AD 1695-1702. The coin is extremely worn meaning the reverse and mint are illegible. The coin has also been bent into a rough S-shape. Along with the well worn obverse and reverse this indicates that this coin was intended for use as a love token. Coins of William III were commonly converted into love tokens and this example is the correct size for a shilling of William III, although the obverse and reverse are too worn to accurately identify the coin. The overall dimensions are as follows: 21.69mm in diameter and 2.5g in weight.
