A worn, clipped and modified Medieval silver penny of Edward IV, minted at York. Modified, possibly to form a coin brooch. Treasure case no. 2018 T18. Obverse: [hENRI]C DI GRA [ ]; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown. Reverse: [ ]; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant, quatrefoil at the centre of cross. The coin has two irregular holes, pierced at 4 o' clock and 9 o' clock on the obverse. The holes have been burred on the reverse. 14.2mm (diameter). Weight: 0.45g. DA=12:4.

A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting. This item is classed as a strap-slide. It dates to the Medieval period (late 12th-late 14th c.). The fitting is of trapezoidal form with a curved-top frame featuring a moulded barrel like design. Within the frame are two opposing, asymmetrical projections. It measures 19.91 mm long, 23.78 mm wide, 5.09 mm thick and weighs 3.21 grams. The frame exhibits numerous file marks. It is in a good stable condition with an even light green patina. An incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval purse bar in two parts, having broken in the middle. The break occurs through the aperture of the central block, which would have held the suspension loop which is missing. The two sections of bar that extend from this are circular in cross section and both have a flat, sub rectangular attachment plate with two piercings, at the bottom half of the bar. The patina is smooth, the colour is dark green. There is a hexagonal handle with loop, decorated with a single circumferential line. The seal matrix has a legend around the edge that reads * LOVE ME ANDE I YE. In the centre is a depiction of two heads facing each other, with a bird above and a long-stemmed flower between the busts.

It has been formed from a single piece of copper alloy that has been folded over at the upper edge in order for it to fit around the buckle frame.
