An incomplete cast copper alloy one-piece La Tene III Nauheim derivative brooch dating to the Late Iron Age / early Roman period c. AD 25-80. At the head of the brooch are the four spring coils but the pin is missing. The bow of the brooch is broadly flat in section with a slight raised rib down the centre - it is unclear if there is punched dot decoration down the bow in the 'Lowbury' style. The lower half of the brooch is missing. Similar to Mackreth's (2011) ND Class 2c. Lowbury brooches appear to have gone out of use by AD 80. Although they may date to the Roman period …

A incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman brooch probably of the trumpet derivative class and dating to the period AD 75-175. The brooch is missing the upper bow, head and pin. The bow of the brooch is decorated at the top with a (broken) panel of three raised vertical ribs. Below this is a contraction with a raised, stylised acanthus-like collar in the centre. The lower section of the brooch has raised diagonal moulding above a sub-triangular sectioned stem which tapers towards the foot, which has a rounded flat-based terminal knop. The wide catch-plate on the reverse is complete.

The bow of the brooch has a rectangular panel arranged vertically with a moulded raised sawtooth-style rib down the centre. The lower section of the bow tapers towards a rounded terminal knop. The catch-plate is retained on the reverse.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Late Iron Age to early Roman Langton Down style brooch, dating to around AD 25-60. The bow and arms are cast in one piece - the bow is flat with vertical raised ribs running down its length as decoration. The arms are tubular and the remains of the spring is retained within. The arms are undecorated. The lower bow, foot and catch-plate do not survive.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman strip bow brooch in very good condition, dating to the 1st century AD (c. AD 40-70). Only the upper third of the brooch survives, comprising the rolled arms of the head of the brooch and part of the bow. The wings are divided by a short v-shaped slot at the top where the hinged pin is retained but this is a different alloy to the rest of the brooch, which has a bluish-green patina. A complete early-medieval copper-alloy strap end of Thomas type B1 dating to the late 8th - 11th century. Ref: Thomas 2003: 4 and fig 2.13.
The strap end tapers from a wedge-shaped attachment end to a stylised zoomorphic terminal representing an animal head with snout and ears. A little under halfway from the attachment end along the shaft, the object is decorated with two transverse grooves or mouldings . This attachment end is split between front and back for the insertion of a strap, with two rivet holes for attachment (rivets do not survive).

An incomplete, cast copper-alloy harness mount or strap fitting of possible late Roman or early-medieval date, c. AD 350-600. The fitting is almost amphora shaped, having a flared tail and a sub-lozenge-shaped body, broken towards one end. There are two integral rivets at the flared end on the reverse. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Late Roman to early Medieval dolphin buckle of Hawkes and Dunning type 1A dating from c. 375-450 AD. The frame is 'D' shaped in plan and is formed of two stylised (and now worn) dolphin heads facing each other with mouths open and a curved, scalloped projection between their snouts acting as a pin rest. The dolphin bodies curve round forming the rest of the frame, before terminating at the narrowed strap bar. The pin (tongue) is missing. The reverse of the buckle is flat and undecorated. The bar is rounded and may have been attached to a buckle plate.

A copper-alloy sword or dagger fragment dating to the middle to late Bronze Age (1600-800 BC). The fragment comprises a cast segment from a markedly tapering blade of lentoidal section. The fragment measures 48mm in length, 31mm in width and 6mm in thickness. It weighs 36.53g. See NLM-56F0CD for a parallel.

A cast copper-alloy Roman buckle, dating to the late Roman period. The buckle has an integral openwork plate. The D-shaped buckle has facing dolphins and ring and dot decoration on the buckle and the plate. The extant pin is of different alloy to the buckle and plate, as are two copper rivets through the back of the plate to secure the buckle to its strap. These may all be replacements for the originals. The reverse of the buckle is plain and undecorated. This type of buckle can be classed as a Type IIb (after Hawkes & Dunning 1960:56).
