An incomplete Medieval silver coin: a continental sterling imitation Edwardian coin of Gui de Dampierre, Count of Flanders (AD 1280-1305), probably dating from AD 1288 - 1292 and minted at Alost (modern Aalst, Belgium). The obverse shows a double headed eagle while the reverse has a long cross with three pellets in each angle. The legends have been identified from a list kindly provided to PAS by P and B Withers. An incomplete, medieval copper alloy rotary casket key, probably dating to the late 12th - early 14th century. The originally circular bow, has approximately one quarter missing along its edge. At the point where the bow joins the shank are two thin incised lines, approximately 4.4mm apart, which circle it. At this point the shank is hollow and sub-rectangular in section, becoming more circular along its length, before terminating in a break. The key measures 60.5mm long, 27.1mm wide and 8.7mm thick. It weighs 18.3g.

A complete blue and white annular glass bead of probable Early Medieval dating (5th to 7th Centuries AD). The bead has been made from an opaque blue glass, with translucent white glass trails as decoration on the surface. It is circular in plan. It has convex sides, with the ends flattened, almost an oblate form. Slight pitting and chipping is present on the surface. The decorative pattern consists of apparently random swirling lines. The central piercing is quite large (8.9mm) and slightly off-centre. The bead has a diameter of 20.27mm, and is 8.49mm thick. It weighs 4g.

Description: This remaining half of the pommel is convex and semi-circular in cross-section, any attachments are missing from the historic break. The surface design is linear with four doubled lines travelling from the centre of the dome to the rim. A fragment of Roman ceramic tile with Procuratorial stamp dating from AD 80-120. The fragment of tegula or brick has the impression of a stamp that when complete would have read P.PR.BR within an ansate frame, this is a type 2485.10 stamp, similar stamps are depicted in Collingwood (1993:39 xii and xvii). Only the last two letters of the stamp, 'BR' remain. The full stamp would have read P(rocuratores) PR(ovinciae) BR(itanniae).
