An incomplete cast, copper alloy, post medieval probable hooked tag (c. 1500 - c. 1700). The plate is ovoid in shape, with one end narrowing and terminating in a break, where a hook would have extended originally. The plate shows two fleurs-de-lis inside frames, one almost completely obscured by iron corrosion, from the central rivet. A third, smaller fleur-de-lis extends from the top of the plate, within a lozenge shaped extension to the plate. The reverse is flat, the upper surface flat with the decoration in relief. A fragment of cast copper-alloy tankard or other vessel handle likely dating to the 16th century.
Description: The object has a triangular body with the beginning of a handle projecting from the upper flat edge curving outwards. There are drilled rivet hole in each corner and one under where the handle projects from the upper edge of the handle plate designed to attach the handle to a sheet metal or wooden body. A uniface lead alloy token, probably of Post Medieval date, about AD 1500 - 1800. It is a uniface circular disc, with a design in relief on one face, of the initials BI with a + before the B and dots flanking the I. Lead tokens were in common use from about AD 1250-1850 but those with initials are usually Post Medieval in date. It is 28.8mm in diameter and 3.2mm thick. It weighs 15.93gm.
