An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of the headstud type, dating from AD 75 - 200. It fits into Mackreth 2011, headstud type 4 and is similar to his number 11860. It has a missing hinged pin, a copper alloy axis bar supported in a tubular housing, but no integral head loop nor crest. The front of the wings are decorated with a single vertical raised band on each wing, this decorated with transverse grooved lines. An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of the headstud type, dating from AD 75 - 200. It fits into Mackreth 2011, Chapter 4, Part 2, group 4, Plate 72. It has a hinged copper alloy pin, of which only the head survives. This is hinged on an axis bar housed in a tubular area behind the head. There is a raised crest parallel with the bow above the stud. The headstud is integrally cast and is circular with two concentric deep grooves.
