Spink no: 6582D Obverse: IACOBVS II DI GRATIA; laureate and draped bust left. Reverse: 1690 . MAG . BR . FRA . ET . HIB . REX; Crown with two sceptres crossed behind, in each quarter XII//I/R//MAY: (XII = denomination). These were official tokens issued in Ireland when James was attempting to recover the English throne and were supposed to be exchanged for silver coins of equivalent value.
