A cast gilt copper-alloy probable mount of uncertain date, likely Medieval to late Post-Medieval in date 1250-1800.
Description: The object is hemispherical and hollow with the outer convex surface being gilded although much of it has been worn off. There is a bilobate tab at one side of the object which is pierced with the remains of two iron rivets remaining. The object is mottled mid brown and mid-light green, except where gilding or the iron rivets survives.
Measurements: 39.48mm long (including rivet tab), 32.22mm wide (in diameter), 14.79mm thick and 25.96g in weight.

Copper alloy mount. Rob Webley kindly comments as follows: 'I'm not convinced the enamelling here is in the Limoges tradition. You get a number of harness pendants and their suspension mounts with the cross of Toulouse on them so I'd suggest that this might be an accompanying harness mount'.
