A late Saxon copper alloy stirrup strap mount of Williams' Class A, Type 10. The mount is pear-shaped or teardrop-shaped and has an integral loop at the top. The front of the mount is worn, but traces of an interlaced animal (possibly seen from above) are visible. The head is probably set so that the snout extends towards the apex, but much of the detail is unclear. A late Saxon copper alloy stirrup strap mount of Williams' Class A, Type 12. The mount is diamond shaped and decorated with a central diagonal corss giving four recesses or apertures. A moulded pellet or boss is located in the centre, and at the left and right side angles of the frame. A pair are seen towards the top of the frame, and a pair are also seen near the base. An integral loop is located at the top. A flat ledge extends rearwards from the base. Iron corrosion is visible on the interior of the ledge. The mount has a typical late Saxon reddish patina.
