Reverse: crowned cruciform shields, REX.16/97..MAG/BR.FRA/ET.HIB. The diameter of the coin is 24.95mm, it is 1.41mm in thickness and 5.74g in weight.

Incomplete copper-alloy open bell with pendant loop of probable medieval to post-medieval date (c. 1200 - 1600 AD). There is no sign of a clapper. The bell is conical with a circular pierced loop at the top, above a ridged collar. A further ridge runs transversally close to the rim of the bell. Damage has been sustained to the bell and there is a broadly triangular section missing from the rim. The edges are worn. A complete copper alloy Medieval buckle, dating to the period AD 1270-1350. A single looped oval buckle frame with a pointed lip and an offset and narrowed bar. The frame is D-shaped in cross section. The rear of the frame is flat. The point on the outer edge is faintly notched. Attached to the bar is a sheet metal buckle plate. Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Chapter 3, Part 3, Group 4a or 4b, Plate 46, AD c. 75-400. The copper alloy brooch has semi-cylindrical incomplete wings with a trace of a perforated wing cap. The axis bar, spring and pin are missing. At the centre of the upper edge of the wings there is a trace of an integral hook. The bowhead is hump-like in profile and is undecorated. There are mouldings on the side of the bow head. The bow is oval in section and tapers to a blunt broken terminal.
The surface of the brooch has an incomplete mid brown patina.

Roofing slate made of grey fine-grained metamorphic rock. It is rounded at the top edge but broken at the lower edge and sides so that its original shape is unclear. The peg hole for attachment to the roof is 7.5mm in diameter and appears to have been formed by partially drilling from the upper face and then hitting to complete the perforation. From the size of the hole it would seem likely that this slate was fixed by a wooden peg, rather than a metal nail, which may indicate a medieval date. A disarticulated cast solid copper-alloy probable statue finger of Roman date c.43-410.
Description: The fragment represents the tip and part of the length of a finger roughly the complete distal phalanx with cuticle and clearly defined nail and most of the middle phalanx. Both sides of the finger are clearly defined. The break is quite worn and the entire object is heavily patinated.
Measurements:49.11mm long, 20.51mm wide, 16.95mm thick and 77.43g in weight.
