Medieval copper alloy mount, originally rectangular but now slightly crumpled. It has a central octagonal conical boss with a small circular cell at the tip. There is an integral arm protruding from the upper, lower and side edges which join the frame of the mount. In each corner of the mount there is a rivet hole with traces of iron rivets within. The reverse of the mount is flat and undecorated. The surface of the mount is slightly abraded and has a mid-green patina. An incomplete cast copper alloy Limoges-style figurative mount, dating to the Medieval period (AD1200-1300) The object is in the form of the bearded head of a figure wearing a four or five pointed (damaged) crown. The reverse of the object is convex and hollow and is open from the back of the head to the point of the beard. The face distinctly (if crudely) shows the eyes, nose mouth, beard and ear. Roman copper-alloy 'vulvate' or 'coffee bean' mount dating to circa AD 150 - 300. The mount comprises a damaged plate with worn edges, presumably this would have been a hexagonal plate as seen on parallels noted below. Protruding from the centre is a raised oval boss decorated with a linear groove. At the reverse of the mount are two circular-section lugs both of which are incomplete and the body of the mount is hollow. The mount has an abraded light green matte surface.
