Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Chapter 3, Part 3, Group 4a or 4b, Plate 46, AD c. 75-400. The copper alloy brooch has semi-cylindrical incomplete wings with a trace of a perforated wing cap. The axis bar, spring and pin are missing. At the centre of the upper edge of the wings there is a trace of an integral hook. The bowhead is hump-like in profile and is undecorated. There are mouldings on the side of the bow head. The bow is oval in section and tapers to a blunt broken terminal.
The surface of the brooch has an incomplete mid brown patina.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman T-shaped brooch, dating to the period AD 50-150. The brooch measures 28.13mm in length and 7.71mm in width. It is 2.37mm thick and weighs 1.45g. The patina is relatively rough, the colour is mostly light green, with some brown specks in the cells of the decoration. The pin, the wings and the upper part of the body are missing.

An incomplete silvered copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill brooch with upper side lugs, dating to the period AD 43-75. The brooch measures 17.55mm in length and 32.82mm in width. It is 3.31mm thick and weighs 4.11g. The patina is smooth, the colour is a silvery dark green on the front and a dull dark green on the back. An incomplete copper-alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date, c. AD 75 - 175. Only the lower bow and foot of the brooch survive. The bow has a D-shaped section with a semi-circular acanthus style moulding to the upper edge, above which is a worn break. An incomplete cast copper-alloy disc brooch of probable Anglo-Saxon attribution dating to the Early Medieval period, c. 450-550 AD. Part of the body and the pin are now missing in old damage, though otherwise it is preserved intact. It is flat and was originally circular, its outer face decorated with a border of stamped ring-and-dot motifs; towards one edge, the surrounding rings have worn away. Other dot punchmarks, possibly originally ring-and-dot motifs, are also stamped across the middle of the brooch in a roughly cruciform pattern.

An incomplete Late Iron age or Roman copper alloy T-shaped applied hook brooch, probably dating to c. AD 25-100. The surviving fragment comprises of the head of the bow, wings and partial pin, the lower bow being lost.
The cylindrical wings expand transversely from the head of the brooch, these retaining a copper alloy axis bar in situ and with a slot cut into the reverse to accomodate a hinged pin, the latter, also of copper alloy, partially survives.
