A complete Medieval copper- alloy annular brooch or buckle pin (c. 1250-c. 1400). This pin is made from a flat strip of copper-alloy that tapers towards a pointed tip. On the underside of the tip there is an undercut where it would have rested on the frame. The opposite end curls to form a loop where it would have been attached to the now missing brooch or buckle frame. About mid-way along the length of the shaft it has a thicker raised rectangular area. The upper face of this area is decorated with five stamped ring-and-dot motifs. Roman copper alloy discoidal plate brooch. Much of the reverse is obscured by decayed iron so that the pin fixings are scarcely visible and parts of the front are covered by a grey cementitious material. Mackreth 2011, British Plate 2.a2. The arrangement of enamel-inlaid cells and reserved dots is very close to that of ibid. pl. 105, no. 10778. Most of the inlay has been lost but some red enamel remains along with a very dark material in one D-shaped cell. Diameter 32.2mm. Thickness (excluding fixings) 1.4mm. 2nd century.

About one quarter of a Roman penannular bracelet with a highly stylised snake's head terminal. The hoop is of flat section and expands to the shape of the head. There is no relief decoration. A median line of punched dots ends before the head on which there is a group of three dots and fine edge nicks. Diameter c.60mm. Width 5mm at the break, 6.5mm at the head. Thickness 1.2mm. Mid 1st - 4th century.

Incomplete medieval folding strap clasp with both sheet plates missing from the integral rigid plate and thereby exposing a forked spacer on which solder is visible on both faces. The frame carries a ridge on the exterior near all four corners, and a sheet quatrefoil mount is riveted to the folding end. Length 33mm. Width of plate 8.5mm, of frame 10.6mm. Cf. SWYOR-7ED1E6, SOM-0627A7 and SUR-2773A8. See Egan and Pritchard 1991, 119-20. Mid 14th - mid 15th century.

An incomplete copper alloy fragment of a Roman Colchester derivative brooch dating from c. AD 43 - 80. The fragment comprises the lower part of the bow and the catchplate; it is triangular in plan with a large triangular perforation. The bow has a circular cross-section. The foot is broken and the upper part of the bow, spring and pin are all missing. The catchplate is mid-green/brown in colour and has been bent. It is 22.67mm in length, 8.11mm wide, 2.45mm thick and weighs 0.74grams A similar brooch on the database from Greater London (LON-FFD927 and LON-C971EF).

A complete cast lead-alloy seal matrix dating to the Medieval period, c. 1200-1300. It is circular in plan, with a folded over tab projecting from its apex forming a rather crude suspension loop. The upper surface of the seal demonstrates slightly raised moulded decoration which appears to represent a rather crude fleur de lys design, while the seal die itself is engraved with the design of a central six-petalled flower (sexfoil), around which the inscription +S' AGNETIS h'VIS (Seal of Agnes.....) can be read.
