A complete cast copper alloy strap/ belt fitting in the form of a snake, possibly dating to the late 16th to early 17th century AD or the 19th century. This 'S' shaped buckle is sub-oval in section and has a tapering terminal/ head at one end, which is in the form of a bird's head. The opposing end tapers to form a tail. The facial features of the eye and beak on the head terminal are clearly visible on either side. A complete cast copper-alloy Medieval bar mount, dating to the 14th century AD. There are vestiges of two rivets in situ. The mount is formed of a central sub-oval body from which two sub-circular terminal lobes extend. The terminal lobes are drilled and countersunk below to accommodate copper alloy rivets which would have attached the mount to a strap. The terminal lobes are of differing lengths.
