Two copper alloy Post Medieval contemporary Nuremberg jettons. Although there is now some edge separation the two jettons are held solidly together in exact concentric register, with the edges of the obverse face feathered around the circumference in an effort to present a single edge . There are significant remnants of a whitemetal coating on the reverse which coupled with the aforementioned features may suggest that this jetton was made to deceive and perhaps be passed off as coin. An incomplete whetstone of probable early-medieval date (c. AD 800 - 1100). The whetstone is formed from a very fine-grained, sedimentary, mica-rich stone. It is sub-rectangular in plan with slightly tapering sides, and is sub-rectangular in cross section. A suspension hole has been drilled in the upper part of the whetstone by drilling from both sides to produce an hourglass-shaped hole, 4.9mm in diameter. The object has an open rectangular central plate frame with rough cross etchings on the front surface of the two longer sides of the frame.
