A complete and very worn post-Medieval silver sol-piece of Louis XIV of France (1643-1715). Mintmark and date illegible, probably 1702-1708.
Obverse: [LVD XIIII D G FR ET NAV REX (date)]; Laureate and draped head of Louis XIV facing right.
Reverse: [DOMINE SALVVM FAC REGEM (mintmark)]; Crown above crossed sceptre, hand of Justice and three fleur-de-lis.
Diameter: 19.0mm. Weight: 1.31g. DA=12:6.

A complete lead alloy spindle whorl of Unknown date (c. 43-c. 1800).
The spindle whorl is circular in plan and is hemi-spherical, domed at the top and flat on the underside. A central hole has parallel sides and is 8.0mm in diameter.
This spindle whorl is greyish buff with a coarse surface.
Diameter: 23.5mm; thickness: 8.0m. Weight: 24.27g.
Plain spindle whorls and weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards and are hard to date precisely although most are late Medieval or post-Medieval.

An incomplete Medieval two-piece sheet copper-alloy strap-end (c. 1270-c. 1350).
The surviving sheet is tongue-shaped in plan. The sides taper in from the attachment end towards the terminal end. At the corners of the attachment end there is a dome-headed copper-alloy rivet. The front of the sheet has a stamped geometric abstract design and the rear face appears to have the remains of solder at the terminal end.
The front has a shiny green patina.
Length: 32.1mm; width: 13.3mm; thickness of sheet: 0.9mm; length of rivets: 5.0mm. Weight: 1.88g.

A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy knife terminal or end-cap from a scale-tang knife (c. 1500-c. 1600).
The cap is almost symmetrical, sub-oval in cross-section at the base and pointed oval at the top. At the base a slot for the missing tang measures 10.5mm in length, 2.4mm in depth and 1.4mm in width. This cap is in the form of two opposing human heads facing outwards. The heads are slightly different, both heads have similar facial features but one is slightly taller and has a 'crest' at the rear of the head.

Obverse: E·D·G·ROSA·SINE·SPINA (A rose without thorns); Crowned bust left.
Reverse: CIVI/TAS/LON/DON; Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription.

Foot and catch plate from an Anglo-Saxon copper alloy small long brooch. The brooch is broken in front of the catch plate part way within the bow; this bow bears a small area of decoration with a raised dorsal ridge between sunken panels. Just to the rear of the catch plate the upper surface is decorated with two transverse bands. Below this the foot of the brooch flares out to a flat, narrow undecorated terminal. The lower surface retains the incomplete catchplate. The object is in good condition, with a grey/green patina, is 40mm long, 9mm wide, 6mm thick and weighs 3.42g.

Anglo-Saxon copper alloy buckle plate. The plate is rectangular, with the corroded remains of a single iron rivet near the back edge, and of an iron buckle loop at the front edge. The plate is decorated with a number of shallow transverse lines. It has a green patina, is 23mm long, 18mm wide, 3mm thick and weighs 3.69g.

Five flakes:
1. Secondary hard hammer struck side scraper, unpatinated grey flint with an iron stain to the dorsal face, steep retouch to one edge and an irregular notch to one side of the distal end. Platform removed. 48 x 30 x 7 mm.
2: Four hard hammer struck flakes, three secondary, one tertiary, light grey to dark grey flint. some small areas of steep retouch to the edges to two flakes, Debitage and simple flake tools. Largest: 56 x 40 x 7 mm. Smallest: 27 x 24 x 5 mm.
Late prehistoric, Neolithic to Bronze Age.
