Cast copper alloy fragment of an unidentified object, possibly Roman. The piece is one corner of a larger object with two straight sides meeting at a right angle. Both sides meet in an old break so the complete dimensions are unclear. The back is flat and the front slightly convex. There is a circular rivet hole though the corner where the sides meet. An early Mesolithic flaked flint biface adze "Thames pick" (10,000-7,000BC). The adze has been 'roughed out' from a flint nodule or pebble. It is roughly oval in cross section. Viewed edge-on along its longitudinal axis the adze tapers slightly from the broadly rounded butt towards the more pointed cutting edge. Viewed from above, the butt and cutting edge are both rounded and the sides are approximately straight and parallel. There are signs of crushing along sections of both edges. A copper-alloy Post-Medieval knife end cap or stop, probably dating from the 16th century.
Description: A cylindrical copper-alloy end-cap, decorated with an incised saltire cross in a square line frame on either side with a vertical ridge separating them on each side, and an incised line star (asterisk) on the top. The coin looks to have been clipped around the right side of the obverse and has broken away at the rim at 4 to 6 o'clock on the obverse. There is also a crack or cut off-centre running from the top to almost half way through.

A complete but worn lead alloy contemporary copy of a silver coin of (probably) Edward I-III, of the period AD 1279-1377. The 'coin' features a crowned bust facing with outer legend but this is now illegible due to the wear of the object. The reverse features a long cross dividing the legend and three pellets in each quarter. Part of the legend appears to read RVI - possibly a mispelt CIVITAS element of alternatively VI[LLA]...R.
