There is a transverse bar on the copula or backwards 'Z' in the obverse legend and the random placing of suns and roses as reverse stops is typical but not universal in Type XVIII (Buck, 2000, 42).

Cast copper alloy horse harness suspension mount, sqaure in plan, with separate extant rivets that are 3 mm in diameter and 7 mm long, but missing its pendant which would have been suspended between the two parallel loops that extend below the lower rivet. The suspension loops have apertures that are 1 mm in diameter. An incomplete copper alloy mount dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1150 - 1400). The mount is square in shape with two rivet holes apparent in the top and bottom right hand corners. The bottom hole shows a break in the right hand edge. The top right hand corner is partially bent over the face of the mount. The decoration on the front of the mount is of a crowned lion passant guardant which would have once been surrounded by enamel. The remaining decoration is well worn. A complete copper alloy possible belt mount dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500 - 1600). The mount is octagonal in shape with four incurved sides and four rounded knops projecting from four opposite corners. The face and reverse of the mount are flat. On the reverse there are two integral fixing pins, which have been bent over opposite sides. there is no decoration evident on the mount. The overall dimensions are as follows: 15mm in length, 12mm in width and 1.01g in weight.
