Post medieval copper alloy discoidal flat fronted button with a concave back and a downwards canted edge with a lateral rim, measuring 16.7mm in diameter and 1.9mm thick at the rim. It has engraved decoration consisting of a central 11mm diameter design of a 5-petalled stylised rose superimposed on a 5-pointed star.
On the reverse is an integral central domed boss which has small stubs & rust staining from the embedded iron wire attachment loop, most of which has broken away.
There are similar buttons in Read (no's 414 - 416) which are given a 17th century date.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Early Anglo-Saxon cruciform type brooch dating to the Early Medieval period, c. 480-500 AD. The brooch corresponds to Martin's group 3, though only the zoomorphic terminal survives, which takes the form of a stylised horses head. The upper edge of the terminal demonstrates a straight truncation, below which are two thick transverse grooves. A complete copper-alloy casting jet of probable Middle or Late Bronze Age date, dating c. 1550-750 BC. It consists an inverted sub-conical plug which bifurcates on its lower edge into two oblique circular-sectioned arms, flattened on their outer faces. Preserved in good condition with an even green patina, it survives to a length of 15.99mm, 15.47mm wide at its upper face, and c. 6.1mm thick at the midpoint of the arms. It weighs 17.38g.

A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting (belt decoration) of post-medieval date. The fitting is in the form of a fleur-de-lys with two openwork leaf-loops at the base. On the reverse are two integrally cast attachment spikes to secure the fitting to a leather strap.
Strap fittings have been in use from the late Medieval to Post Medieval period. Post-medieval copper alloy harness mount, flat with two integral round-sectioned attachment spikes on the reverse. In the centre of the front in counter relief the bust of a putto is depicted, "with a notched projection above and a large half flower below. Loops, emanating from the chin and the top of the head join at the side of the head as swags, forming four apertures". See NMS-07A677, a very close parallel, with a list of other examples. Length 31.7mm. Width 25.3mm. 17th century.

Copper alloy cast small long brooch of 5th to 6th century date (c.425 - 575 AD). The headplate is square and relatively small when compared to the overall size of the item. The pin hinge, which is attached on the reverse, takes up much of the space on the back of the headplate, and features a pin lug loop with partial remains of the pin intact and iron corrosion. The head plate, like the rest of the brooch surface, is plain and undecorated.
The bow is 'D' shaped in cross section and forms a short 'C' curve being attached at the top to the head plate and at the bottom to the foot.

A Roman copper alloy trumpet variant brooch dating to c AD 75-175 (Type 6b). The brooch is incomplete and is missing part of the catchplate and the pin. The brooch has a head loop attached to the top of the narrow trumpet wings. The bow is angled each side to created a ridge down the centre of the bow which terminates in a foot which is stepped forward. In the centre of the bow is a knop of three transverse mouldings.
