A 17th-century post-medieval copper-alloy quarter ounce trade weight, dating from the reign of Charles I or II (1625-1685). The pan weight is formed of a thick disc. On the front there is a raised circumferential rim with an incuse ring at the centre, surrounded by fine circumferential turning marks. There are three stamped marks on the front: a crowned letter 'C' (at 11 o'clock), which is the royal cypher; The dagger of St. Paul (at 1 'clock), for London, the place of its manufacture; a ewer (at 6 o'clock), for the Founders Company of London. An incomplete cast copper-alloy late Iron Age or early Roman period one-piece brooch of 'Nauheim derivative' La Tene III type dating to the 1st century. (AD,43-100). The head of the brooch is a bilateral spring in a spring coil which would have formed the pin. Part of the coil and pin are missing. Two of the spring coils are intact, curving backwards onto the front of the brooch body. From the spring the body extends in a sub-triangular form in plan, narrowing in the direction of the foot leading to the remains of a sub-triangular catchplate. An incomplete cast copper alloy barb-spring barrel padlock of Medieval date (c. AD 1200 - c. AD 1400). The barrel case is octagonal in section and rectangular in form, with a flat top and bottom and sides that step slightly inwards three quarters of the way down. The barrel case is hollow and damaged at the narrow end revealing a thin bar inside. A cast copper-alloy fragment from a cooking vessel of post-medieval date. The artefact consists of the foot and a short section of leg above. Immediately above the foot is a ribbed collar. The foot is decorated on the front with three vertical ribs, the central rib being wider than the two flanking ribs to the side. The leg has a flat reverse and broadens to the sides and front below the collar, giving it a sub-triangular cross-section. The leg is green with flecks of black soot. A later Roman (AD 200-410) cast copper-alloy key finger-ring (or 'ring-key'), Guiraud type 5a. The hoop is D-shaped in plan, with the flat section comprising the 'bezel' and the S-shaped bit. The bit comprises a hollow cylindrical shank, with an S-shaped bit extending from it at a right-angle. The bit has four rectangular teeth on the outer edge. The bezel is decorated with six grooves creating five rectangular knops.The bit and bezel are decorated with incised lines. This cross-guard is straight in plan and curved in side view. It has a central block which is oval in cross-section and has a central vertical rectangular slot to accommodate a tang. A complete Modern copper-alloy harness fitting/distribution loop (c. 1800-c. 1950). This fitting has an oval-shaped frame which is oval in cross-section and measures c. 55.0mm in length, 33.3mm. At one end there is an integral pear-shaped knop which is oval in cross-section.
