An incomplete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver-gilt small square-headed brooch (c. 450-c. 600). Treasure case no. 2016 T797. Part of the head-plate, part of the bow, the pin and the lower part of the brooch are missing. The brooch is moulded at the front and flat at the rear. It has a flat head-plate frame decorated with two parallel wavy lines of punched indentations. An incomplete copper-alloy hinged trumpet derivative bow brooch dating to 75-175 AD. The head of the brooch is semi-circular with a hollowed reverse and tabular wings housing the axis bar for a hinged pin which is missing, there is the remnant of the catchplate on the lower end of the brooch. The bow has a faceted D-shaped cross section with a large knop with horizontal ridge and groove moulding at the lower end. The foot has broken off. An incomplete cast copper alloy one-piece button dating from the late medieval or early post-medieval period, that is c. AD1400-1600. Solid discoidal, plano-convex button with small central dot and two incised concentric circles on the obverse. The back of the button has the remains of the incomplete integral drilled shank and a central mould seam.
