Large copper alloy Polden Hill type Roman brooch. The wide bilateral wings, each has three groups of raised reel decoration in a 2:3:2 group formation. The head, loop, wings and catchplate are all moulded in a single piece. The end of each wing is fully enclosed with a central piercing that still accommodates the axis bar for the spring. On the underside of the head there is an oval aperture through which the remains of the spring, pin-stub and axis bar can be seen. A silver penny of Henry II, Tealby type, Circa AD 1158-1180. Extremely worn and clipped between 6 and 9 o'clock. Obverse: Crowned bust facing, wearing armour and mantle and holding a sceptre with cross. A lead disc gaming piece of Medieval to Post-Medieval date (AD 1100-1700). The surface is decorated with four evenly spaced crescents the emanate from the outside edge and are arranged so the apex of each curve is angled in towards the centre of the piece creating an overall cross motif; in the middle of each crescent is a deep pellet that appears to have been used as the axis in which each line was drawn. In the centre of the gaming piece is a fifth deep pellet, this is surrounded by two concentric circles.

Cast lead gaming piece, rectangular in profile and circular in section, with four protruding peaks at the slightly tapered apex of the piece which look more like a gaming piece rather than a broken suspension loop for a weight. The base of the piece is flat so that it is free-standing. It weighs 46.75 g which equates to 1.65 ounces avoirdupois, so it seems it is does not relate to a particular weight and was therefore probably not used for this purpose. Biggs & Withers (2000) illustrate a similar square pyramid lead weight with four protruding peaks at the apex, which they suggest …
